My Husband....You've got to love him!

So this has been a very eventful few weeks, and Morgan and I have had some pretty good times. This last few weeks has consisted of Christmas shopping, the start of snow, the end of school, and of course finals.
Morgan and I went shopping one afternoon in order to find Morgan a new jacket and brown dress shoes. Morgan needs a jacket that will keep him warm. Right now all he has is this HUGE bubble jacket, and I really do not like it. He agreed that if we could find him a jacket that he likes that he would get rid of his puff ball jacket, and he currently has no brown dress shoes and he has wanted a pair of those.
So Morgan started off on this adventure without me because I had a final, but he went to like at least half the stores in the mall, before me met up. Once we got together we decided to try Burlington Coat Factory, Ross and TJ Max. It is safe to say that between all those stores we did not find anything that even peeked interested from him. So next we go to Famous Foot Wear, and he actually found some brown dress shoes that he liked for $60.00, but then he was concerned that they were too cheap looking because of the shoe laces, yes I am serious. They were made by Stacy Adams, so I looked on Wikipedia from my phone to see if it was a known brand. Sure enough not only was it a known brand it goes back to the 1800s, but once I cleared that concern he was worried that they looked to western. So I go through and ask people shopping within in the store, and everyone loved them. So he decided that he would purchase them.
Well that is when I told him that the shoes were buy one get one half off so I explained that we clearly had to get a second pair. He said that we do not and that’s just a sale tactic that they use to trick people into buying more. I told him that I did not care, and one of us walking out with a second pair of shoes. He then rebutted with you do not need any more shoes. In which I replied, I am a girl therefore I always need more shoes. After going back and forth we finally decided that he would get a pair of Bear Paw Moccasins, and we left that store after being there for over an hour.
We then travel down to the mall to continue the hunt for a jacket. We go to Macy’s, Express, Aero-postal, Nordstrom’s, American Eagle, Eddie Bauer, Banana Republic, Gap, and I am sure there is more I just cannot remember.  Anyways we found not one jacket that he liked. One was to cheap looking, one looked to fake, One he liked but decided when he wore it it looked like he was going to go and work in the yard, and one he liked but decided it was not a perfect fit. After five hours of shopping at a zillion stores we leave with nothing. He did not understand why I was so frustrated, and I explained to him that I could find something I like in every store, and he went to fifty million stores and could not find one thing that he liked, except for the brown dress shoes.
The next morning he wakes up and tells me he wants to return the brown dress shoes because the laces feel too cheap…. Long story short, I can shop for him but I will never make the mistake of shopping with him again.
Changing the subject yesterday Morgan turns on the heater and gets in the shower. I yell and tell him that it is blowing cold air and that I am freezing cold. He yells back and tells me not to worry about it, it’s just warming up. 20 minutes later it is still warming up and I am freezing cold, by the time he finally gets out of the shower, he says wow it is cold in here that is not right. I just replied with I tried to tell you. Well we later discover that the pilot light is out. So Morgan goes and gets his fancy lighter that he does not know how to use. When he tried to light it he could not get the flame to stay lit. Ready to give up I ask him to let me try. He very confidently says that if he cannot do it, then I defiantly cannot do it. I explained that is probably just needed a women’s touch. Guess what….I did it! He then goes back into his office and is playing with his lighter trying to figure out how to get the flame higher. He puts it by his ear to see if he could hear gas coming out, when the flame grew and burned off some of his hair! So funny! His ear reeked off burnt hair all day, it smelt so grouse.
Well that is all for now, hope that this was a fun read

Our First Christmas Tree!

So Thanksgiving was a lot of fun, we got to spend the day with all of Morgan’s family. I enjoyed getting to know them all a little bit better. Black Friday was a lot of fun, but not as exciting as in past years. This year I decided to do something that I have never done before, and that is go to Wal-Mart. I have never been brave enough to enter a Wal-Mart on black Friday, but this year they were matching the prices from all other adds, so I figured I could do all my shopping at one store. I was in and out in an hour, and I got everything I wanted plus a full night’s sleep, so that was an awesome bonus.

My favorite part of the week however was picking out our Christmas tree, and decorating our apartment. Morgan’s parents and Hannah came over and we all decorated together. I made us soup and hot chocolate and it was all delicious. We also finished our tree topper angel. Morgan picked out the dress pattern and the angel. He felt very strongly about having a modest white dress, and so that is what we got. (Who knew he felt so strongly about the angel’s wardrobe?) Devin was the main designer in creating the angels wings, and Hannah and I were his two helpers, I never knew that Devin was so crafty. And Morgan’s mom sewed the most beautiful dress I have ever seen, she just did such an amazing job. I am so grateful that my family was so willing to help me create my angel, I just love her.

I am dreading going back to school, and setting foot back into the real world but I just keep telling myself only two more weeks of school. I think that I will survive it, at least I hope that I do.  I got the Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney Christmas CD’s and those are giving me lots of encouragement. Oh how I love country Christmas Music.

Long Week

So this week has been so long! Morgan has been in San Francisco interviewing for an internship next summer, and I have been stuck at home. The worst part is I have been getting sick. I could not sleep all night last night cause of the intensity of my sore throat. So as a result I have sat at home and watched lots of movies. I watched Father of the Bride, Love Wedding Marriage, and I started to watch Swing Vote but I fell asleep. I bought myself a frozen pizza and ice cream for dinner, so that did make me feel a little bit better. Tonight I am going to have cheesy bacon fries for dinner, so I am already looking forward to that.

Thanksgiving Is coming up so fast and I am so excited I can hardly stand myself. I have already started to buy mine and Morgan’s first Christmas decorations. I got these super cute pearl pink bulbs with silver sparkles on them.  I also got pearly white and silver bulbs to go with them, so our Christmas tree will be decorated the same as our wedding colors.  We are going to go and pick out a real tree the day after Thanksgiving so I am really looking forward to that also. The thing I am most excited about is our tree topper. We are going to make our own angel tree topper. When I was a kid we always had a handmade tree topper on the tree, therefore I want one too, and I want it to be an angel because I like to feel like an angel is watching over our house. We are going to make this angel out of a Barbie. We are going to sew an elegant white dress, then make her wings and a halo, then last we will make the cone to go under her to complete the tree topper. I just bought the Barbie I am going to use yesterday, and she has a really pretty silver necklace and earrings so she will match the tree perfectly.

Well that is all for now,
Crystal

My First Post!

So I have decided to start a blog about the life of Crystal and Morgan. I just thought it would be a fun way to update people on how we are doing.

So Morgan and I ran a half marathon on Saturday. Neither of us really dedicated the right amount of time towards our training, however we were still able to run the whole thing without walking; but as a result we are both incredibly sore. We have both been limping around completely pathetic, we literally have been told by several people that it is painful for them to watch us walk. Haha fun times. At first I was just like I never want run more than 3 miles for the rest of my life, but then I found out about the Disneyland half marathon, and long story short I may be signing up for another half marathon.

Morgan is out of town today on his first second interview for a summer internship. I am very excited for him and eager to see how it goes. However I hate it when he is gone. I just get lonely and depressed, so I will have to go to In N Out for dinner, followed by a movie; I have a hard life. He will be back tomorrow and I am super excited for that.

I found out that I can graduate school next summer, but I might drag it out through the fall; I have not yet decided. I know that either way I have less than a year of school left so that is very comforting to me. The day I graduate will be a very happy day in the life of Crystal

At this point I am just over the month of November even though today is only the first of the month. All I can do is think about Christmas, Yes it is true I am one of the annoying people who listens to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. I am excited for Thanksgiving though too! Morgans parents are coming up to Utah so that will be loads of fun. I am also excited for Black Friday, I love the thrill of shopping all night.

That’s all for now, but I will try to post like once a week!
